A Basic Golf Swing

A new work, over a year and a half in the making, is now available on this blog in .pdf form and on an accompanying video on YouTube.

The .pdf and video must both be consumed. There is material on the .pdf that is not in the video, and vice versa. Together they explain the concept. Read the .pdf, then see the video.

Find the .pdf here: http://therecreationalgolfer.com/Swing4el.pdf

Find the homespun video here: https://youtu.be/YQdP6gECFNw

I hope you like it.

  1. Thank you for all of your advice. Generally, I find it helpful. The one area of disagreement is with your insistence that a neutral grip is best. That seems not to be the case for many golfers (myself included). Once I switched to a very strong grip, I started playing much more consistently, and gained over ten yards on my drives. Watching professional golf, it is clear that the best golfers in the world are all over the place when it comes to grip strength. It seems to be something that each golfer needs to experiment with.

    1. I recommend a forearm-neutral grip because it is the easiest grip to use. You can certainly use a different orientation, but you must build a swing to match it. But if you can make a strong grip work, have at it!
