Probably the worst mistake you can make in your golf swing is to release the club at the start of the forward swing instead of waiting for the proper moment later on. This is called casting.
It’s a hard habit to break because it is caused by wanting too much to hit the ball. We know it’s a the wrong move, but we keep doing it because we don’t know how to do the right thing.
Well, here’s one way to do the right thing.
When you start your forward swing have the feeling that the clubhead stays at the top, meaning that you leave it behind when you start swinging forward.
Stick with the feeling as the forward swing progresses that the clubhead trails the forward movement of the arms and hands.
If you can do this, the club will release itself in the proper time and the hit you have been seeking will create itself.
